Dr Steven Teo

Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

Dr Steven Teo graduated from National University of Singapore and went on to train in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (United Kingdom). He attained the specialist degree of Master of Medicine (O&G) from Singapore and became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (United Kingdom).

As a specialist in Royal Healthcare Medical Centre, Dr Teo had previously received various awards for exemplary performance in public service.

Besides general obstetrics and gynaecology practice, Dr Teos passion lies in fertility treatment and advanced keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery. As no two patients are the same, the combination of these subspecialties allows Dr Steven Teo to individualize therapy for each patient.

He also obtained Ministry of Health (MOH) accreditation to practice the full spectrum of assisted reproduction techniques (ART), including IVF, ICSI, and surgical sperm retrieval.

Under the MOH-Singhealth HMDP program, he trained in Sydney (Australia) with renowned laparoscopic surgeons to be proficient in the removal of endometriosis and advanced keyhole surgery.

As a fertility specialist, Dr Steven Teo has helped many couples realise their dreams of parenthood. As an obstetrician, he has looked after many pregnancies and delivered precious bundles of joy. As a gynaecologist, women of all ages have benefitted from receiving surgery and medical treatment under him. As a doctor, his vision is to provide care and comfort to all patients.

Dr Fong Kah Leng has full registration with Singapore Medical Council and General Medical Council (UK). Dr Fong provides a full range of out-patient services and surgeries in obstetrics and gynaecology. Her area of work includes providing pregnancy care & delivery, management of common gynaecological conditions such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, menopause, family planning, endometriosis etc, hysteroscopy and laparoscopic surgery.

She has a special interest in lower genital tract cancer prevention and screening; including colposcopy and vulval diseases and treatment of pre-invasive conditions. She had several research projects and publications in that area. She was a principal investigator for the multi-center clinical trials of one of the HPV vaccines against cervical cancer. Her medical career is dedicated to direct contact with her patients. Her dedication to patient care has led her to receive several awards such as the Excellence service award (EXSA) Gold and Singapore Health Quality Service Silver Award. Education 1995 – graduated from the University of Glasgow (UK).

Dr Timothy Lim Yong Kuei is a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in the management of gynaecological cancers. Though his key interests are in laparoscopic surgery, complex pelvic surgery and the prevention and treatment of gynaecological cancers, he also provides antenatal care to expectant mothers and manages a wide range of gynaecological conditions including endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and obtained his post-graduate qualifications in O&G from the Royal College of O&G, London in 2003. He started his gynaecological oncology fellowship training in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, KKH under A/Prof Philip Yam in 2006 and was awarded the prestigious Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) award from MOH to train in minimally invasive gynaecological cancer surgery in France under the tutelage of the renowned Prof Denis Querleuin 2008. He also obtained the Masters in Law (LLM) in Medical Law and Ethics at the University of Edinburgh in 2016.

He was the Head and Senior Consultant Gynaecologist of the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, KKH from 2014 to 2019 as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Division of O&G, KKH from October 2015 to 2019. He was instrumental in the development of minimally invasive gynae-cancer surgery as a standard of care in KKH as well as starting the ICG-NIR sentinel lymph node biopsy services for endometrial cancers since 2016. He performed the first laparoscopic Wertheim’s radical hysterectomy in Singapore for cervical cancer in 2009, introduced fertility sparing abdominal radical trachelectomyfor early cervical cancer in KKH in 2011 with successful pregnancies after surgery as well as the first ICG-NIR sentinel lymph node biopsy for early endometrial cancer in Singapore in Dec 2015. He also introduced digital colposcopy services in the management of preinvasivediseases in the colposcopy suites, KKH in 2016.

He was also the Academic Vice-Chair of Research in the SinghealthO&G Academic Clinical Program (ACP) from April 2018 to 2019. As a clinical researcher, he has authored and co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed papers. He was also the principal investigator in several multicentre HPV vaccine clinical trials as well as co-investigator in several multicentre chemotherapy trials in KK hospital. He sits in the editorial board of the World Journal of Clinical Cases and Journal of Cancer Metastasis and Treatment (JCMT) and is an associate editor of the Singapore Journal of O&G.

Dr Tan Heng Hao has been involved in the field of reproductive medicine since the start of his career as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (O&G). He was the Head of Department in Reproductive Medicine, and served as a Senior Consultant in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s (KKH) Endometriosis Centre and Maternity Services as well as the Director of the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Centre & National Sperm Bank in KKH. At the same time, he served concurrently
as the Deputy Chairman of the Division of O&G and is the current Section Chair of Reproductive Medicine in College of O&G (Singapore).

In addition to being a Ministry Of Health (MOH) accredited IVF specialist in Singapore, he is trained in advanced endoscopy and reproductive surgery for fertility enhancement. He received part of his surgical training in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Taipei) under the Ministry’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award in 2009, and is one of the few who still performs laparoscopic
tubal reversals locally.

He also holds special interest in other aspects of clinical care. They include advanced minimally invasive surgery for endometriotic and other benign gynaecological conditions, managing the care in both IVF and non-IVF pregnancies and performing surgical sperm retrieval for patients with male
infertility.

Dr. Tan is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG). In 2005, he was awarded the top Gold Medal prize (IV Asian Congress O&G) in the Master’s of Medicine Examination in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (NUS).
