Dr Woo Jia Wei is an Internist and Cardiologist with Sunrise General Medical and Heart Services. He is also a Visiting Consultant Cardiologist to National University Heart Centre Singapore.
His special interests lie in advanced multimodality cardiac imaging for accurate and in depth cardiac diagnoses using state of the art technology. He is also experienced in using advanced 3D cardiac imaging techniques using CT, MRI and echocardiography to guide and plan various heart procedures and surgeries to facilitate smooth operation. He also has an interest in preventive and community cardiology to act on and prevent heart attacks and other cardiovascular events at the earliest stages.
He was formally trained in Cardiovascular MRI at the German Heart Centre in Berlin, a leading international cardiovascular centre. He was trained in using cardiac MRI to diagnose and manage coronary artery disease as well as various cardiomyopathies. He also had exposure to patients with complex congenital heart diseases.
He also received formal training in cardiac CT with world renowned John Hopkins Hospital in America as well as with Harefield Hospital in the United Kingdom. He subsequently received a Diplomate in Cardiac CT from the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography of America.
He trained in adult echocardiography with trans-esophageal echocardiography and transthoracic echocardiography at the National University Heart Centre. He subsequently received a Diplomate in adult echocardiography from the American Society of Echocardiography. He also has experience in interventional echocardiography and use of 3D and 4D imaging techniques to guide minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
He had also presented in several International Cardiology and Medical Conferences as guest speaker and published in several International Peer-reviewed journals. He was also appointed to be a reviewer in several international journals.
